Three Muteres

MoldTecs GmbH, part of Ameneos, was created from the former non-filtration business of Mann + Hummel and includes injection molding and welding systems for functional auto parts.

Frankfurt, Germany-based holding company Amaneos has formed a platform for three international automotive suppliers: Light Mobility Solutions GmbH (LMS), MoldTecs GmbH and SFC Group.

The plastics-based systems manufacturers will each continue to operate independently as part of Amaneos, a March 7 news release said.

"As a global mobility partner, we want to work together to drive the continued progress of OEMs," Mathieu Purrey, CEO at Amaneos, said in the release. "By bringing these specialist automotive suppliers and their years of experience together under one roof, we can provide our customers with greater agility, flexibility and innovation, without compromising on quality."

With the formation of the platform, Amaneos will have more than 7,500 employees, with more than 30 locations globally and annual sales of $1.3 billion (1.2 billion euros).

Amaneos expects further growth "in the coming months," the release said, with MoldTecs planning to build two plants — one in North America and one in China.

MoldTecs is the former non-filtration business of Mann + Hummel International GmbH & Co.

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, a Munich-based investment company and shareholder of Amaneos, acquired LMS, MoldTecs and SFC Group in 2021, 2022 and 2020, respectively.

The companies have developed independently since they became part of the Mutares Group, the news release said.

Amaneos did not immediately respond to request for comment by Plastics News.

"Our production and development locations around the world … enable us to be there for our customers globally and to serve them flexibly and quickly with high-quality products," Purrey added. "To do this, we rely on continuous innovation as well as the upheaval of new and traditional technologies to keep pace with the evolving needs of OEMs."

SFC Group develops and produces fluid transfer systems, sealing solutions, and mixing and rubber components. LMS produces lightweight components for exterior and interior systems. MoldTecs produces injection molded plastic parts.

"The collaboration between LMS, SFC Group and MoldTecs brings together Amaneos's expertise and technologies, complementing each other," the release said. "The three companies can support OEMs globally across their specialized business areas with flexible, customized and innovative solutions."

Amaneos was founded in 2023 to create a platform for Light Mobility Solutions GmbH, SFC Group, and MoldTecs GmbH. The portfolio companies remain legally independent, the release added.
